Back 2 School Connections

MPUSD engages in a 'Back to School Connection' practice. The intention is to build community and relationship between educators and families: that relationship is critical to our school serving your family.

What to expect: If you are available, signing up to come meet with your child's teacher and share about your family values, backgrounds, aspirations and hopes.

Early Release: The entire week is an Early Release week for our entire school - school will get out at 12:50 Monday August 17th through Friday August 21st.

TK and Kinder Reminder

Updates from ELO

ELO Pickup Contact Update

We’ve discovered that only the first two contacts listed in ParentVUE are currently showing in the ELO checkout system (6Crickets). We are working to resolve this issue. In the meantime, families who need to add additional authorized pickup contacts can use their original 6Crickets registration link, select “Edit Student,” and add the additional pickup contact. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this system update

ELO After-School Program at J.C. Crumpton!
Don’t miss out on the opportunity for your child to join our fun, engaging, and supportive ELO After-School Program!
Scan the QR code to complete the registration process, or contact Ms. Isha if you need help with registration.

Attendance/ Early Release Policy
Each student admitted to a district program is expected to attend the full duration of the program on every day that school is in session. Per MPUSD Board policy, as well as ELO school funding requirements, the ELO Program begins immediately after the end of the regular school day and operates until 5:30 pm on all school days. Pick up ends at 6:00 pm.

If families are regularly picking up their child before 5:30pm, we are required to have an Early Release Form on file with the program Site Director. To gain the most out of the program, and to be academically and socially successful, students are expected to attend the after-school program Monday – Friday until 5:30 PM every day. The reasons listed below are valid explanations for early pick-up.

CODE REASON
  1. Other On Campus Activities (Athletics, Clubs, tutoring, etc.)
  2. Family Needs/Emergency
  3. Appointment (Medical/Dental/Counseling etc.)
  4. Child Injury/Accident
  5. Student Walking (Daylight Savings)/Transportation Issues
  6. Off-Campus Activity (Girl Scouts, tutoring, Athletics, etc.)

If you wish to have your child released early from the after school program regularly please request an “Early Release Form” from your site director upon enrollment.

Our First WOW Wednesday WOWed Us in a BIG Way!

What an incredible first WOW Wednesday at ELO–J.C. Crumpton! A huge shout-out to the Marina Public Works Department for bringing an amazing Public Works Vehicle Show to our TK–6th grade students! Our students had the opportunity to get up close, sit, honk on Multihog and backhoe, learn about the important work Public Works does in our community, and ask questions. And the fun didn’t stop there!

Next Week's Event

Wednesday, August 19th- SPCA Monterey Community Read Aloud: An educator and animal* will have students gather around to read a story together. The educator will bring along an age-appropriate book about animal care - and read it with the students.
