Parent/Guardian Newsletter

August 7, 2026

Greetings RoadRunners!

It is official - we are back in business!
What a fun filled week it was.

I am happy to report that our school year is off to a smooth start. We identified some kinks early on that we were able to smooth over in just a few short days and things feel great.

It has been an absolute pleasure to visit classrooms and spend time on the playground watching old friends re-unite and new friendships start to form. Teachers came back with great and positive energy and support staff rocked their supportive roles.

Also - it has been fun to see the smiling faces of parents and guardians at morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. What stands out to me greatly is the diversity of who we see: we've met Moms, Dads, Aunts and Uncles and Grandparents - all leaning in to support our young people. A remarkable site to see.

Back 2 School Connections

MPUSD engages in a 'Back to School Connection' practice. The intention is to build community and relationship between educators and families: that relationship is critical to our school serving your family.

What to expect: If you are available, signing up to come meet with your child's teacher and share about your family values, backgrounds, aspirations and hopes.

Early Release: The entire week is an Early Release week for our entire school - school will get out at 12:50 Monday August 17th through Friday August 21st.

TK and Kinder Reminder

Next week we have early release days for our TK and Kinder students - school ending at 12:50 daily. This is in an effort to support their transition back to school.

Introducing A Faculty Member

Each week I will introduce a member of our school faculty with a short 'About Me' page.

This week, I am proud to introduce our esteemed School Psychologist.

Updates from ELO

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year! My name is Isha Ton, and I am excited to introduce myself as the Site Director for the Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) Program at J.C.

Crumpton Elementary School. This is my 2nd year with ELO but I have been in the education field for over 12+ years. I am so excited to welcome our returning families and meet all of our new ELO families! Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every student feels supported, connected, and excited to learn after school.

Throughout the year, ELO students will have opportunities to participate in academic support, enrichment, STEM, arts and crafts, sports, community partnerships, special events, and Wow Wednesday experiences. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where students can build friendships, explore new interests, develop leadership skills, and have fun! Please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, ideas, or suggestions. I value your feedback and look forward to working together to make this a wonderful year for your children. Thank you for trusting us with your children. We’re so happy to have you as part of our ELO family! T
