Principal's Message

Welcome to J. C. Crumpton Elementary School.

 

My name is Alessandro Tani, and I have the utmost pleasure of serving you as the J.C. Crumpton Principal for the upcoming 2022 - 2023 school year. As a resident of Marina myself, I find it a true privilege to serve the community I call home. 

 

There are a few things about me I feel are important for you to know as we begin this journey together. First, I am a father of two beautiful sons, Osvaldo and Vincenzo and a husband to my wife Erin. They are the bedrock of my life and inspire me to bring my best self to life each and every day- knowing that I have their unconditional love keeps me balanced. 

 

Secondly, I consider myself a teacher who is now a principal, rather than a principal that was once a teacher. I firmly believe in public education, and know that education is the answer to creating a more peaceful and welcoming world. Your child is important to me and all of the decisions I make throughout the year will be aimed in one direction, ‘what is best for the students.’ My entire teaching career was in Special Education and so one of the main tenors of my philosophy is that all children are learners and should be provided ample opportunities to grow scholastically, emotionally and socially. We must believe in, and love, all of the children within the school house, always.

 

Lastly, as the students, I am also a learner. I take pride in my practice, and strive to continue to improve the way in which I serve. I welcome you to partner with me as I grow in this new role. I welcome your feedback and suggestions on how to make J.C. Crumpton a better version of itself, or how I may do better myself. 

Summers are precious and I hope you and your family are thoroughly enjoying the place we live and those around us we call family. Also, as the school year starts, you will regularly see me in the parking lot before school and I welcome you to join me in conversation.
