Principal's Message

Greetings Families, 
 
My name is Alessandro Tani (Mr. T), proud principal of J.C. Crumpton elementary school. It is my third year serving in this role and I am feeling strongly that we are moving our school in a positive direction. I am proud to say that, between last year and this year, we had a 100% retention rate with our General Education teachers spanning Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade. That means that our momentum of school improvement can progress greatly this year. 

As a happy Marina resident, I feel it is my great privilege to be at your service. I love our little town, and welcome all the greetings I get from children around town. I believe firmly that our school, the mission that drives us, and the collective efforts of our staff, are the vehicle for our communities continued success and growth. Institutions of education help mold our community's children into successful, inclusive, and loving community members. 
 
Last year we maintained a keen focus on Literacy and early phonics instruction. I am happy to report to you that, at the end of the year, our school was amongst three in the district that won the ‘Literacy is Key District Visionaries' award. This does not mean we are the perfect school, but it means we are working hard to get better - and that our efforts are both broadening and deepening our children's access to strong literacy instruction. 

As always, I will strive to ensure that our school is safe and welcoming to all children and all families, regardless of who they are- that mission begins in my office. Again, it is my distinct pleasure to serve as principal,  and I am here for you.
