Principal's Message
Greetings Families,
My name is Alessandro Tani (Mr. T), proud principal of J.C. Crumpton elementary school. It is my second year serving in this role and I am feeling strongly that we are moving our school in a positive direction. At Crumpton we will always strive to be a school that is welcoming to all students, that supports learners with any needs, that fosters deep partnerships with families and community, and maintains an atmosphere of mutual respect and love. That mission begins in my office, and extends to all those who call J.C. Crumpton home. As a member of the Marina community myself, I love the city I serve. The thing that stands out the most to me, as our greatest asset, is our diversity. The languages spoken in our homes, the cultural identities that make us individuals, and the values we hold dear, make us greater.
One area of our school that we are focusing on deeply this year in literacy instruction. We are progressing forward to become excellent literacy instructors and learners. Through a new curricular adoption, targeted professional development, partnership with a literacy specialist, a variety of structural strategies, and a deep level of focus - we will become better. I am proud to say that the approach we are taking, within our classrooms, is based on the research around the science of reading.
